Tips and Tricks: Winged Eyeliner Edition

Winged Eyeliner

Hey Lovelies!
Hope you are in good health :)

Its a fact that everyone at sometime in their life have struggled with eyeliner either to get it perfect or even. I totally agree with the fact that having a perfect eyeliner is quite a difficult job specially when you are a beginner. For me eyeliner is must. I mean I cannot live without it. So I have practiced a lot on it using different techniques and I am still doing it. I mean you never stop learning.

Back when I was in High school, the only eyeliner available on local cosmetics shop or at least the one I knew about ( BTW I did not know that much about makeup back then :P ) was a liquid eyeliner with brush applicator. OMG it is the hardest one to apply and I did not know about any hacks or tricks. So you can now probably tell how hard it was *sigh* . But hey, here I am. Now I literally cannot complete my makeup with out a liner. I am not saying that I am perfect or a "Pro". I still do mistakes but hey we are not judging rite? ;)

So all I learnt from my experience is that with eyeliners ( of whatever type) you need to be really patient. Patience and practice is the key to have a perfect winged eyeliner. I have picked up some of the pointers or you can say "tricks" to achieve a perfect winged eyeliner. So, lets get into it ;)

TIPS

Firstly I want to tell you some really important Tips;

  1. ALWAYS apply your eyeliner with your eyes open. By open eyes I mean looking straight forward not up or down. That way you Know what shape you want to go for.
  2. NEVER pull the skin of of you eyes outwards. It may look like the application of eyeliner is easier but once you leave your skin your eyeliner will not be of the desired shape. Plus the skin around your eyes is sensitive.
  3. I am definitely repeating this one but just because this one is really important. You NEED to be patient with your eyeliner. You are not going to get it right in first attempt. It may take quite a number of attempts. Just practice and play around with it.

Tricks

  • Keep Your Hand Steady When Applying Eyeliner

This is the most important thing while applying your eyeliner because when we are being precise that is the time when our hands shakes like hell. So when applying eyeliner its important to keep your hand as well as your arm steady. So first of all when applying keep your elbow steady on a table top or any other flat surface. Secondly, rest your pinky on your cheek very lightly without applying any pressure  On this way your hand should be completely steady. Then apply you eyeliner.

  • Use Business Card or Scotch Tape or Any Other Card

Apply eyeliner just on the lid very near to lash line. Take a small piece of scotch tape and place it under the outer corner of your eye on a desired angle. you can also use card or anything similar but I prefer Scotch tape as you don't have to use your both hands at a time plus scotch tape does not move obviously. Now apply your wing of desired thickness but keep it slow and be patient. Use small strokes. In that way you are less likely to mess it up. when done remove the tape and voila! there is your perfect winged eyeliner.

eyeliner tips
Step 1: Apply the tape to outer corner at desired angle

Step 2: Draw a wing along the tape

Step 3: Fill in little by little to achieve desired thickness

Step 4: Remove the tape and voila!

  • Don't Go Directly into Liquid Eyeliner

Liquid eyeliners are easy to get messed. If you are not good at using liquid eyeliner then please don't go straight into them. Instead first use a pencil / kohl or gel liner to get a rough outline. You can also use a black eye shadow. After having a rough outline of where your eyeliner should be then go in with the liquid eyeliner and apply on top of the previous line and make it neat. That way your chances of mistakes are minimized.

  • Apply Dotted Line in the Place of Eyeliner

This is the trick for applying eyeliner on the lid. Apply small DOTS or DASHES instead of a complete line. then join these dots / dashes to have a complete neat line. You can also build up the thickness using this trick.

eyeliner dot trick
Step 1: Apply the dotted line on lid

Step 2: Join the dashes and even it out

  • Wing it Out Using a Pen Eyeliner

Note: This is not my trick but i just wanted to share as its a good one.
Apply eyeliner on the lid using any easy method. Then take a pen liner, hold it outwards at an angle of desire and then push the complete tip on skin. Now join it with the eyeliner on lid.

Push the nib (pointing outwards) into the skin

Drag the pen to join with the eyeliner on lid

These are some of my tricks that I find easy to use. If you have some other tricks feel free to share. But if these are of any help just let me know in the comments. Just remember perfect eyeliner cannot be achieved over night. You really need to get into it and do a lot of practice. Just be patient.

Makeup Revolution Flawless Matte Palette

Hey lovelies! Welcome back! :)

When we think of eye shadows, we think of dramatic Smokey eyes. But the fact is eye shades, if applied right, can make any makeup look ravishing. I personally love every eye look from natural to smokey eye or a dramatic cut crease ;) and the one palette I use most is  Makeup Revolution Flawless Matte Palette.

As the name says it has all the matte shades, 32 in particular. So if you are into shimmers then you probably ain't gonna like this palette. But if you are into natural matte look or a beginner then u are gonna love this baby. I love both mattes and shimmers but even with the shimmers I need matte shades for my crease. I don't like shimmers in my crease or as my transition shade. So I reach for this palette a lot.

I got this palette online for 1600 PKR at Daraz.pk. It has 32 shades which are all matte as I mentioned above. The palette comes in a golden bronze card outer packaging. name of the palette is written on front while all the shades are shown on the backside of the outer packaging. Inside, the palette is wrapped in a polythene bag. The palette itself is black. Inside the palette shades are on one side, covered with a plastic sheet on which all the names of shades are written. On the other side is a huge mirror, which I love and use alot ;). I personally think that names of shades should be written on palette as if you lost the sheet you cant pretty much know the names, which BTW I have already lost :P. But on the whole, I like its packaging.

Shades range is quite good. It has warm shades to cool toned ones, which is amazing. Warm shades are less in quantity though. I love shades nut, taupe, rust, burnt, shell, earth and carbon which is black one. The texture of most of the shades is quite velvety and smooth. They are not chalky. Easy to blend. And I love the fact that this palette has a black shade as well. The pigmentation for most of the shades is quite good although some shades are less pigmented then others. Another fact for these shades is they have a good lasting time, say 3-4 hrs. But with a good eye base they can last even longer. So as for me this time is pretty good.

Here are swatches of all the shades for u on my arm and on a page along with there names so that u can see it yourself.

Sequence of shades is same as palette

If you re looking for matte eye shadows or your collection is missing some essential mattes then this is the palette for you.
I like this palette but honestly I think it could have been improved in terms of pigmentation. So, I give it

8/10

Do you have this palette in your collection? Are your reviews same as mine? Have you tried Makeup Revolution before? Whats your Favorite palette/product of Makeup Revolution?

Mousse Glitter Reviews + Swatches

Hello Beauties!

Welcome to my blog!

I was wondering what should be my first post on my blog. Either it should be my favorite foundation review or a lovely eye shadow palette. But then it clicked me, GLITTERS are the perfect choice. Voila! Reviews and swatches of my favorite mousse glitters.

Glitters are a perfect choice for a party makeup look or a function or wedding event. But nowadays everyone is raving about glitter eye shadows. It seems like 2016 is the year of glitters :D. Personally I love glitters. Glitters can make any makeup look ravishing.

These particular ones are the mousse glitter. I ordered them online from a Facebook retailer “Beauty World”. They proved to be the best glitters in term of price and quality. “Beauty World” is selling mousse glitters as well as loose glitter pigments, each having 3 palettes. Each palette contains 12 different beautiful shades. Personally, I prefer mousse glitters over loose ones as they are less messy and easy to apply. So here are my reviews;

These glitters were available in 3 different palettes but there was the option of a customized palette so I ordered that one. This palette contains 12 different shade of my choice from all the 3 palettes.

These palettes are quite affordable. I bought mine for 900 PKR. It’s a good bargain of 12 beautiful shades for such an affordable price. They come in small plastic jars which are packed in plastic tray-like box with a plastic lid. I must say packaging is quite cheap. But product is good so I don’t mind.

Although they are mousse glitters, but their consistency is not that creamy. I like their texture as they are quite easy to apply with a flat brush or even fingers. Just tap it on to your eyelids and there you go.

Major issue with most of the glitters is fall out and that is the reason glitters are so messy. But as they are mousse glitters, they have zero fall out. You can easily apply them after applying your foundation. They are not messy. They do not budge on eyes. They do not move around and stay put for a very long time unless you remove them.

Now comes the plus point ladies. Easy application comes with easy removal. As they are easy to apply they are easy to remove. You just need a makeup removing wipe or some makeup remover on a cotton pad and just swipe it off. And then wash it off your face. That’s it. You don’t need any extra-long procedure. These are the swatches of shades that I own and I love all of them <3.

So these were my reviews about the beauty world mousse glitters. You can probably tell now that how much I love these glitters. They are a must have. Instead of buying really expensive glitters, which can cost you a fortune, these are quite an affordable alternatives plus they do the job quite well so it’s a win win.

I’ll give them

9/10

and this is because I think there is always a chance of improvement. ;)
